What Is A Mini Game And How Do You Play?

Here at Connect we love playing Mini Games… Why?  well we feel great when we achieve the goals we’ve set up and  receiving the fab prizes, over the years we have had so many, we’re always going for coffee and cake and I can’t tell you how many bottles of wine we’ve won, not to mention the lunches and dinners  we’ve been on. Mini games help to keep us all motivated and on track for the goals we are looking to achieve.

At the moment we are playing a Mini Game right up until the end of the year, Our theme is “We Grow By Referrals, Please Don’t Keep us a Secret” we have some space available throughout the UK, this month we are focusing on Manchester and Liverpool, then in November we will focus on Berkshire and Coventry, then December, Hull and Hertfordshire So if you know anyone who would benefit from working with us please introduce us.

Loads of our clients play Mini Games with great success too, so if you have never played a Mini Game then you should seriously consider doing so especially with what’s going on in the world at the moment, we all need a bit of fun to brighten our days up.

So today I wanted to tell you… What a Mini Game is, how to play a Mini Game and why YOU and your TEAM should play them.

A Mini Game is a short-term activity designed to correct a weakness or pursue an opportunity in your practice. Mini games are designed to be fun and engaging and allow the whole team to play and work toward a team/practice goal.

Not only that Mini Games are like mini-incentive  plans; they’re a way to motivate your team on a day to day basis to make improvements that will add up to year-long successes and can be aimed to increase revenue or introduce a new system or software to the practice.

Make sure you get the team involved from the start with all the planning, this way the game will be a success as the team have got buy in from the very beginning.

What does a Mini Game consist of?

A theme – Mini Games have a theme that energises the players and propels the overall game. So make sure you choose a good one!

A goal – this has to be realistic and agreed by the whole team

A timeframe for play – I wouldn’t suggest no more than a few weeks, otherwise it can get a bit boring

A scoreboard – Make it colourful and fun

Team incentives – along the way have a prize each week on the build-up to the bigger picture, maybe a coffee and cake or a bottle of wine.

A reward for reaching your goal – It might be a team prize or an individual prize, maybe a lunch out or a team day/evening.

Lastly don’t forget if you need a hand setting up your Mini Game get in touch I have lots of resources I can share.

Until next time
