Supporting Smiles and Changing Lives with Dental Mavericks and RifCom
At Connect, we’re privileged to work with some truly inspiring organisations, and this past weekend, that inspiration came to life in the mountains of Northern Morocco.
One of our long-standing partners, Dental Mavericks, joined forces with RifCom, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in the Rif Mountains. The event, aptly named “Kick Through Poverty”, brought together sport, education, and community care to deliver real, on-the-ground impact. We were honoured to play a small part in helping share their story.
Over the course of the weekend, the Dental Mavericks’ team delivered oral health education to more than 160 children, many of whom have never had access to basic dental care. Alongside the lessons, every child received their own toothbrush and toothpaste, creating an important first step toward building lifelong habits for healthy smiles.
But the smiles didn’t stop there.
Thanks to the generosity of the RifCom team and their incredible donors, each of the 160 children also received a brand-new football kit and a pair of boots. They were then grouped into 8 girls’ teams and 8 boys’ teams for a community tournament that was nothing short of joyful. Watching them step onto the pitch, proud, confident, and full of energy, was a moment no one there will forget.
The event wasn’t just about football or oral health. It was about confidence, dignity, and belonging. For these children, receiving something as simple as a toothbrush or a football kit can be truly empowering. It sends a message that they matter, that someone sees them, and that there is a community of people, both local and international, cheering them on.
For those lucky enough to volunteer, the experience was just as powerful. It’s not only an opportunity to give back but also to immerse yourself in a warm and welcoming culture, surrounded by people who care deeply about creating change. Volunteers described it as life-changing, not just for the children but for themselves.
At Connect, we believe that great marketing starts with real stories, and this is one of them. It’s the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do. Being able to support organisations like Dental Mavericks and help amplify the incredible impact of events like Kick Through Poverty is a true honour.
